Manual Therapy for Farm Animals

We are excited to include farm animals in our manual therapy training. With welfare at the forefront, all our training courses are fully researched using the most up-to-date, science-based evidence. We approach each course with empathy and integrity towards all animals, whether they are commercial or domestic. Irrespective of whether you support or oppose animal production, this course is purely aimed at benefiting the animal.

Who is this Course For?

Animal Manual Therapists: Looking to expand their practise to include cows and sheep.

Animal Custodians: Those who manage animals for dairy, meat, and show purposes, aiming to promote high welfare standards.

Smallholders: Individuals wanting to enhance their bond with animals and maintain them in a more natural state for better health and wellbeing.

Why Manual Therapy for Cows, Calves, Sheep and Lambs?

It is well documented that massage is beneficial for animals. Both academic research and anecdotal evidence suggest that it:

  • Makes animals more comfortable.

  • Reduces stress levels.

  • Enhances muscle tone, especially when movement is limited.

  • Helps significantly with muscle injuries sustained in the shed, field, during mating and birthing, or transportation.

Benefits for Productivity and Well-being

Happy beef cattle produce better quality meat, and dairy cows experience increased milk yield. Additionally, massage improves coat condition and movement fluidity, which is essential for show animals.

These benefits extend to sheep and lambs, enhancing wool quality, promoting better growth rates, and improving overall health. Ewes produce higher quality milk, benefiting lamb development.
