HORSE MASSAGE TRAINING COURSES
Sports Massage for
Sports Massage for Racehorses (level 4) is another high quality career course offered by EMA aimed at the Further Education student working in the racing industry. The training incorporates a variety of massage styles but with a main focus on Sports Massage in preparing the racehorse for optimum athletic performance and recovery. The course is also underpinned by anatomy & physiology. Aspiring Therapists for the Racing Industry, Trainers, Head/Travelling staff, Work Riders and Jockey's might be very well suited to this learning to help performance and welfare in their sport.
This is aligned to a level 4 nationally accredited training course.
The course is delivered over one Module of 5 days ‘Attended Learning’ where we focus on theory and practical massage followed by a period of ‘Distance Learning’ in which you will complete assignments and field based case studies with racehorses. This leads to a final theory and practical assessment. The earliest qualifying period realistically is 6 months but this really depends on your lifestyle and time you can allocate to studying – you may be able to qualify earlier than 6 months. We are very flexible to suit your needs!
Graduates may progress onto level 5 learning after a period of working in the industry as a Therapist if it is their intention to become a fully immersed Therapist incorporating Massage and Rehabilitation with the option to attend the full range of CPD (continuing professional development) one day courses. The flow chart further on shows the progressive nature of our training.
You are however still trained to massage horses after taking this Sports Massage for Racehorses course.
The tuition fees for the course are very competitive given the high standard of training offered by EMA with the UKRS accreditation.
