Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been found to help a wide range of conditions including skin wounds; muscle, tendon and ligament injuries; neurological conditions; pain and arthritis. An increasing number of equine therapists are incorporating laser therapy into their therapy, due to the superior results it offers when used alongside manual therapy.
This course is designed to provide you with an understanding of the theory LLLT including properties of lasers; classification of lasers; biological effects and research regarding laser therapy. The main focus of the course will however be the use of LLLT in equine rehabilitation, with emphasise on treatable conditions, contraindications and safe application. This course is designed to enhance a therapist’s skills and provide them with the knowledge to safely incorporate this modality into their treatment to enhance the results. Therapists will find this a very useful extra modality!
